The PNPECU PnP adapter kit for the N46 allows you to gain full control over the engine while allowing easy fitment into your car, be it the original car or after an engine swap. All OEM functionality is maintained where possible.
Some functionality may not be available with your supplied ECU so contact PNPECU to discuss
VALVETRONIC is not supported - It needs to be manually fixed in place to maximum valve lift.
The base MaxxECU adapter kits assume the engine has been fitted with Smart coils / VAG coils / IGBT / Ignitor coils. This means the standard BMW coils will not work. Most common is to fit VAG coils to N46 engines. Alternatively, it's possible to purchase the Ignition output add on solution to retain the standard coils.
Please discuss with PNPECU if you wish to buy the kit for a Sport ECU as there will be several limitations but might still work for your particular situation.
The wiring adapter plugs straight into the OEM engine loom and then onwards to your ECU
